The Colt program includes a wide variety of outdoor activities to encourage each teens introduction into a new way of life. Our location offers excellent fishing on the Clark Fork River or in the surrounding mountain lakes. It is a memorable experience for teens who have never fished before and even for those that have. And the river offers more than just great fishing. Teens also enjoy the challenging whitewater rafting of the the Clark Fork River upstream.  Not to mention the excellent canoeing and swimming in the calm water downstream. These unique opportunities are an effective therapeutic tool, and each teen thoroughly enjoys them. With fun and challenging activities our teens our introduced to a new way of life.

Each activity that our program offers builds relationships with staff and teens. Rock climbing is another great way for teens to develop trust and other positive skills, while enjoying the beautiful outdors. And mountain biking or horseback riding on the thousands of nearby trails offer a great opportunity for exercise and the chance to enjoy the wonderful scenery of Montana. These activities give teens a taste for the outdoors and the joy of challenging themselves. Backpacking and camping in the beautiful wilderness locations nearby plays a major role in this process and is a big key to our philosophy here at Colt.
